Hey everyone. It’s been a while, nearly two months. As you can probably tell by the episode length this isn’t a full episode. This is just a quick update and announcement episode.
The reason I haven’t been doing the show lately isn’t because I am podfading, quite the contrary in fact. I have been working very hard on taking this show to the next level, and you will hear the next episode January 1st at 11am EST. It’s with Rob Rosenthal, the Lead Instructor of Transom Story workshop and hose of HowSound. If you don’t know who he is, I have a few links for you to learn more about him, but he is one of the reasons why I decided to make the switch to narrative. After this I have a short clip from the upcoming episode telling his story.
You may have also noticed a change in scenery with the album artwork. I recently decided to change the name of the show, and it was for several reasons but one of the biggest is people often mistaken the word “fiend” for “feed.” I wasn’t happy with the name, and after a lot of back and forth I decided to change the name now than hate it down the road even more. So the new name is “Podcast Roots.”
The name, I think, defines the show better. It represents the root we all have in podcasting. That root is where everything started, which is something I often cover with my guests and something I am fascinated with. Now, this isn’t going to be a show just about how people got started in this industry, in fact we might talk about their success, or the tree in this metaphor. And for me, my root, the thing that means the most to me, the thing that gives me sustenance is telling stories about people who get to do the things I love and possibly help others make that happen.
Speaking of making things happen, I am very excited to debut my new website for you all to check out: podcastroots.com!
So that is why we have the name change and the new logo. By the way, how do you like the new logo? You can find me @podcastroots everywhere on social media with the #podcastroots. I would love to see people using that hashtag from this episode. If you already follow me on Twitter or Instagram I have changed my username from @podcastfiend to @podcastroots. So you don’t have to do anything else. So let me know what you think about all of this, do you like it? Do you not like it? Let me know on pretty much any social media platform you use.
But that’s all I have for now, please check out podcastroots.com and let me know what you think. I am on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat all @podcastroots. That roots with an “S.” I hope you all have a good holiday season, an if you’re not celebrating any holidays I wish you a happy rest of your year, and I will see you all January 1st at 11am EST with the next episode of Podcast Roots!
